What’s shipped

Releases of the server, Studio and the Windows installers, the Helm chart and the official SDKs, newest first. The latest server and Studio are the public beta.

  1. Studio and the Windows installers

    BetaOctober 2026

TriCoreDB installs on Windows from one file, and Studio comes as a desktop app as well as in the browser.

    Added
    • A Windows installer for the database: the server as a Windows service, the command-line tool, and Studio both in the browser and as a desktop app.
    • A second installer for the Studio desktop app alone, for a computer that only connects to a server elsewhere.
    • Backup and restore for every data model from one dialog, to SQL, JSON, CSV or a tar archive, with schema-only and data-only choices and a field-to-column mapping.
    • The query tool runs the selected text, or every statement in turn split on semicolons, and keeps each statement’s result.
    • One explorer tree, Database > Schema > objects, with a menu on every object: view data, scripts, truncate, back up, drop.
    • The uninstaller asks what to remove, the server, the desktop app or both, and keeps your databases and settings unless you tick the boxes to delete them.
    Improved
    • Any Studio on your computer signs in to any server it can reach, installed, in a container or on another machine, with no origin to configure.
    • The installers need nothing installed first: the Visual C++ runtime is no longer required.
    • Relationships are listed as the page opens, and the form offers the nodes and types that exist.
    • What ships carries no source maps and no Studio source.
    Fixed
    • On a new PC the service could not start after installing, because a system library was missing. It is now built in.
    • A server that refuses Studio is told apart from one that is not running, and the message says what to change.
    • Navigation icons sit on their labels’ line, and the top bar holds at 1280 px.
  2. Server 0.1.0-rc.3 · image 0.1.0-rc.3-r2

    Beta · latestOctober 2026

More of SQL, and a container that is ready to sign in to from one command.

    Added
    • READ COMMITTED transactions, beside snapshot isolation.
    • Deadlock detection that names the cycle.
    • WITH ... AS MATERIALIZED queries that can be joined.
    • TRUNCATE ... CASCADE empties a table and the tables that refer to it, in one transaction.
    • SHOW FUNCTIONS, SHOW SEQUENCES, SHOW TRIGGERS and nine more statements list the catalog’s objects.
    • Checksummed cache snapshots with save, list and restore.
    • Index usage statistics for document collections.
    • In the container, TRICORE_ADMIN_PASSWORD creates the first administrator and TRICORE_STUDIO=on starts Studio, so one docker run gives a server you can sign in to.
    Improved
    • With TLS on, the container serves Studio over HTTPS with the server’s own certificate.
    • SQL import and export take a table in a schema.
    Fixed
    • Dropping a table also drops the triggers on it; one used to be left behind naming a table that was gone.
  3. Server 0.1.0-rc.2 · Helm chart 0.2.2

    Release candidateSeptember 2026

Replicated clusters get easier to run: followers forward writes, and restarts no longer disturb the leader.

    Added
    • Followers forward writes to the leader instead of refusing them.
    • Pre-vote: a member that rejoins does not force a new election.
    • A write whose result cannot be known after a leader change fails with the code outcome_unknown instead of a guess.
    • Helm chart on ghcr.io with a values schema, voters and learners, a PodDisruptionBudget and a helm test that checks leader agreement.
    • The image and the chart are signed, and the chart is listed on Artifact Hub.
    Improved
    • A stopping leader hands over at once instead of waiting for an election timeout.
    • Runtime users replicate to every member of a cluster.
    Fixed
    • A write to a follower right after CREATE TABLE no longer fails with "no such table".
  4. SDKs 0.1

    First releaseSeptember 2026

Eleven official SDKs, published to their language registries.

    Added
    • Node.js (npm), Python (PyPI), Go, Rust (crates.io), .NET (NuGet), Java and Kotlin (Maven Central), Ruby (RubyGems), Swift (SwiftPM), Dart (pub.dev) and PHP (Packagist).
    • SQL with server-side parameters, documents, vectors, graphs and cache in every SDK.
    • Transactions, connection pooling, TLS and mutual TLS.
  5. Server 0.1.0-rc.1

    Release candidateSeptember 2026

The first public image: five data models behind one protocol, secure by default.

    Added
    • SQL, document, cache, vector and graph engines, plus LLM context export, behind one native protocol.
    • Snapshot-isolation transactions and crash-safe atomic batches.
    • Persisted HNSW vector index with an exact re-rank.
    • Raft consensus with automatic failover.
    • TLS required and AES-256-GCM encryption at rest by default.
    • Distroless, non-root image with an SBOM and build provenance.
    Fixed
    • Image revision -r2 moved to a runtime without OpenSSL: 0 critical, high or medium vulnerabilities.
